A little bit about me
As Founder and Owner of Live Out Loud public relations firm, Ashley Underwood Schlosser has more than ten years experience in graphic design and five years experience in media relations, writing, brand building, community engagement, media monitoring/social analytics, public speaking and presentation skills, as well as event management.
She comes from a strong background in public relations having worked at such established, global public relations agencies as Burson-Marsteller and Porter Novelli. She has served large-scale clientele in multiple industries helping such brands as America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA), The IDG Network’s DEMO & CITE Conferences, Ford, Coca-Cola, Bank of America, T.D. Jakes’ MegaFest and Hewlett-Packard with their communications campaigns. Ashley has also worked on accounts local to Austin including community awareness and public affairs efforts for the Texas Speaker of the House Joe Straus and recent work with the nonprofit Texas 4000. Previous accounts also include media relations and social media efforts for H-E-B Central Market. She has participated in grassroots promotional campaigns for Austin radio stations 94.7 FM, 95.5 FM and 89.3 KLBJ AM at Entercom Radio during her time as a Promotions Assistant.
Ashley graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric & Writing from the University of Texas at Austin. She currently serves on the board of the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Austin Chapter, serving as the University of Texas at Austin PRSSA Chapter Liaison. In this role she coordinates the chapter’s relationship with the UT Austin PRSSA chapter, and act as a mentor for current students looking to enter the public relations industry. In addition to her role as liaison, she was also Co-Chair for the 2013 PRSA Southwest District Conference, which took place June 5-7, 2013 in Austin. She executed all aspects of the event from planning the theme to speaker selection and programs to on-site management.
